The D+ → ωπ+ decay is studied by decomposing its amplitude into a sum of factorizable and non-factorizable ones. Its rate is predicted as a function of mass and width of a hypothetical hybrid meson. PACS number(s): 13.25.Ft, 11.30.Hv, 11.40.Ha, 12.39.Mk Typeset using REVTEX

Using a sample of 58 million J/ψ events recorded in the BESII detector, the decay J/ψ → ωπ+π− is studied. There are conspicuous ωf2(1270) and b1(1235)π signals. At low ππ mass, a large broad peak due to the σ is observed, and its pole position is determined to be (541 ± 39) i (252 ± 42) MeV from the mean of six analyses. The errors are dominated by the systematic errors. PACS: 13.25.Gv, 14.40.G...

The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB collider is a major upgrade of the KEK “B factory” facility in Tsukuba, Japan. The machine is designed for an instantaneous luminosity of 8 × 1035 cm−2 s−1, and the experiment is expected to accumulate a data sample of about 50 ab−1 well within the next decade. With this amount of data, decays sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model can be studied...

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) is a high energy particle physics experiment that will study cosmic rays in the ∼ 100 MeV to 1 TeV range and will be installed on the International Space Station (ISS) for at least 3 years. A first version of AMS-02, AMS-01, flew aboard the space shuttle Discovery from June 2 to June 12, 1998, and collected 10 8 cosmic ray triggers. Part of the Mir space...
متن کاملThe Typical-State Paradox: Diagnosing Horizons with Complexity
The concept of transparent and opaque horizons is defined. One example of opaqueness is the presence of a firewall. Two apparently contradictory statements are reconciled: The overwhelming number of black hole states have opaque horizons; and: All black holes formed by natural processes have transparent horizons. A diagnostic is proposed for transparency, namely that the computational complexit...

We measure the CP -violating asymmetries in decays to the D → KK and D → ππ CP eigenstates using 540 fb of data collected with the Belle detector at or near the Υ(4S) resonance. Cabibbo-favored D → Kπ decays are used to correct for systematic detector effects. The results, A CP = (−0.43 ± 0.30 ± 0.11)% and A ππ CP = (+0.43± 0.52 ± 0.12)%, are consistent with no CP violation.
